about

The purpose of this site is nominally to track the implementation of Project 2025 as laid out by the working group of conservative thinkers, writers, and policy professionals who authored the Project’s official documentation, particularly the Mandate for Leadership. (It’s important to recognize that Project 2025 is only the latest iteration of The Heritage Foundation’s Mandate for Leadership series.)

But the real “Project 2025” is not just what’s prescribed in the book—it’s what actually happens. Thus the posts here will be about what actually happens, and bringing context to the actions of the Trump administration.

The most important goal of this site—at least, a purpose that is certainly not secondary—is to hold accountable the architects of the anti-democratic and unconstitutional actions of this administration and, critically, all of those who voted for the politicians who always intended to implement this plan.

Future political commentators and their followers should not be allowed to feign surprise at any part of what this administration implements. Complicit voters especially should not be allowed to hide behind their ignorance when harmful policies are implemented. With the rights of democracy come the responsibilities—“a republic, if you can keep it,” a funny old man reportedly once said.

With Republicans ostensibly in control of all three branches of the federal government, now would be the time to take bold moves. Because Trump is so transactional (and decidedly not conservative in many policy realms), whether or not Project 2025 is implemented will indicate how much power the ultraconservative wing of the party is able to gain or maintain in the face of Trump’s populism, his idiosyncratic policy positions, and his attraction to oligarchy. Elon Musk, in particular, will be yet another actor wrestling for power with different motivations, objectives, and resources than either Project 2025 or Trump.

That said, if you want to do me a solid, you can sign up for a paid option. This finances my coffee needs, and in return, you can suggest topics you’d like me to cover. No guarantees on feasibility—I may not be able to turn the topic into a post—but I’ll certainly look into it and discuss in the chat.

I am not a professional writer. I work 40+h/wk (like most everybody else), and I live in the seasonally-dreary PNW. So it takes considerable amounts of coffee to pRoDuCe (substantive) CoNtEnT. Thanks!
